William R. Capel

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Comptroller

William R. (Bill) Capel is Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Comptroller of United Space Alliance (USA). Capel is responsible for all USA financial functions, including accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, business management, contracts management, LLC tax returns, and financial reporting. He also is responsible for USA facility management.

Capel joined USA in March 1997 as Vice President and Comptroller, and he was named CFO in April 1998. He has over 40 years of experience in finance, including over 18 years at the Officer Level and over 30 years in the aerospace industry.

Capel began his career with General Electric. Throughout his career at GE, he was responsible for all aspects of the finance function, with particular emphasis on cost accounting, cost control, budgeting and analysis, auditing, and financial support to operations. After his tenure with GE, Capel held top-level financial positions with Textron, and at UNC Incorporated, as Vice President and Controller. Immediately before joining USA, Capel served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of M4 Environmental Management Inc., a joint venture of Lockheed Martin Corporation and Molten Metal Technology Inc.

Capel is a graduate of General Electric's Financial Management Program and Corporate Audit Staff. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Duke University.
