USA’s Rick Zeitler was awarded the prestigious Rotary NASA (RNASA) Stellar Award – Middle Career at the annual RNASA Stellar Awards Ceremony at Houston’s Hyatt Regency Hotel in April. Zeitler was recognized for his skill, dedication and personal hands-on commitment to ensure safe and reliable performance of the Orbiter. Zeitler was cited for his leadership of a large, complex team to address a broken poppet in the Orbiter Main Propulsion System flow control valve.
Other USA nominees that evening were Rami R. Al-Ayobi, George Brittingham, Jennifer Hall, the International Space Station Space Flight Resource Management Working Group, represented by Therese Huning, and the Overhead Crane Simulator/Trainer Team, represented by Phillip Shibly.
Each year, RNASA accepts nominations for Stellar Awards for outstanding individual and team achievements from the government, military and aerospace industry organizations. Winners are announced at the spring gala.
