Shuttle Propulsion Office Names Hammond Employee of the Year

David Hammond was recently selected as the Marshall Space Flight Center Shuttle Propulsion Office’s 2007 to 2008 Employee of the Year.United Space Alliance Manager David Hammond was recently selected as the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Shuttle Propulsion Office’s 2007 to 2008 Employee of the Year for his outstanding performance in the field of resource analysis and his willingness to share knowledge with other workers.

Serving as a program integration manager in the Program Planning and Control Office of the Shuttle Propulsion Office, Hammond assists with the management of resources; planning, reporting and analyzing financial and resource data; and development of reporting capabilities within the Integrated Enterprise Management Program, a NASA-wide effort to transform business systems and processes to improve fiscal and management accountability.

“This is a great honor,” said Kim Doering, USA Vice President Huntsville Operations. “This affirms my confidence in the caliber of work that USA does every day to provide safer, more efficient and cost-effective solutions for human space exploration.”

Prior to beginning his career at USA in 1999, Hammond worked for several other contractors supporting the Space Shuttle Program. His entire 25-year career at MSFC has been in support of the Space Shuttle. In 2001, he was a Space Flight Awareness honoree, the highest recognition given to an employee by NASA’s Space Flight Awareness Program. He also received a NASA Appreciation Certificate in 2003 for his outstanding performance, dedication and business skills.
