The NASA Shuttle Logistics Depot (NSLD) was established to assume Manufacturing, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) responsibility for hardware. This OSHA Star site is also ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS9001 certified. The NSLD has a 100,000 class Clean Room and a 160,000 class Clean Work Area. Leminar Flow Workstations are located throughout the NSLD facility some of which are certified as Static Safe work stations.
Avionics capability includes analog, digital and RF components in Wire Harnesses, Communications and Tracking, Data Processing, Displays & Controls, Electrical Power Distribution & Control, Guidance Navigation & Control, Atmospheric Revitalization, and Instrumentation systems. USA is experienced in reverse engineering of Special Test Equipment.
Mechanical capability includes mechanical mechanisms, fluid system components and structures. Included in this capability are latch actuators, drive actuators, hydraulic cylinders, brakes, pneumatic valves, pneumatic actuators, high and low pressure regulators, control panels, tanks, liquid propellant valves, propellant disconnects, liquid propellant circulation pump, and cryogenic components, along with ducts and tubing. Manufacturing of tubing includes multiple benders, hydrostatic testing and Titanium Tube processing with an Autofrettage. Certified for multiple welding processes including Automatic tube welding (Astro Arc), Tungsten-Inert Gas, (GTAW automatic and manual), Resistance welding (spot), Plasma Arc Cutting, Shield Matal Arc (SMAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Induction Tube Brazing (manual and vacuum Bell Jar).
