Norm Gookins
Vice President, Human Resources and Administration
Norm Gookins is Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for United Space Alliance, LLC. Appointed to this position in January 2005, he is responsible for providing leadership for all Human Resources activities, both domestic and abroad. He previously served for nine years as the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Business Advocate for Houston.
Gookins has more than 30 years of Human Resources experience. He served as the Director of Human Resources for Rockwell Space Operations Company from 1994 through 1996. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for all aspects of Human Resources with particular emphasis on team building, organizational integration, and developing and implementing programs responsive to business needs.
From 1976 to 1994, Gookins managed all aspects of Human Resources for various divisions and Corporate Headquarters of Rockwell International.
Gookins is very active in community service and has been a member of the Boy’s and Girl’s Harbor Board of Directors and has served on the Board of Directors for E.A. Smith YMCA since 1999. He is currently in his second term as chairman of the board of the YMCA. Gookins has also been recognized for his outstanding contribution to this organization receiving Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004. He is also an active member of the Friendswood Community Church and is currently serving on the small group Leadership Team.
Gookins holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
